The store is rented.

Inventory arrived was priced and stocked in the store.

Opening day is set for April 1st.

I have been offered a possible new location and partnership of sorts in a few months.

Things are going great so far. There is a lot of buzz in town about my opening.

We are handing out flier's next week announcing the opening and we are going to try

to advertise in the paper and on the radio.Will write more after the opening to let

you know how it goes.

Actualizing a Dream

My store will be a reality.
I negotiated and rented a location.
Inventory has been ordered.
Planning to Open in March.

I will be opening a Art and Decor store in a good location. Have already tested the local market and found it willing to buy both kinds of art I will be carrying. I am ordering the decor in small batches to test and see what of it sells well.

Today I spent time today framing the art I already received. I also started an inventory list. I am making a daily checklist of inventory sold. I can mark at the end of the day what sold so at weeks end I know what to order. My permits are filed and I am awaiting them in the mail.

The Attitude of Gratitude

How good do you feel when someone thanks you or gives you a compliment? Do you thank those around you for what they do? Have you noticed someone looking nice? Tell them. You could be making their day. I always feel good after helping someone or complimenting them. So its good for me and them. We need to be thankful for what we do have instead of bemoaning what we don't have. I am not saying settle for what you have. Always strive to reach the next level on your path. I am saying don't get so wrapped up in what you want that you miss what you do have. Bless the things you have and the things you want. There is always more coming to us if we are ready and open to receive them. By blessing and being grateful for what we have it sends a clear message to the universe that we are ready for more. If we complain and focus on the lack the universe will send us more of the same. Be careful which one your thoughts draw. If you catch a thought of lack stop it and think of the blessings already in your life. After a while this will become a habit. Life will not always be rosy but if you are able to see past its challenges to the lessons and blessings it will take the sting out of the situation making it easier to handle.

How to Earn More Money

If you are serious about wanting to earn more there are an unlimited number of ways. You can have a service business cleaning, yard work, babysitting etc. You can also teach. Teach others just about anything. How to work a computer,a language, skill, tutoring, its endless. You can also sell a product. Decide what to you want to sell.Go online or locally and find out the price for you to buy it and the retail price. You can order a lot of things on ebay that can be resold on eBay or locally in a store ,flea market booth ,or even a kiosk in the mall. You just need to decide what you want to sell and go after it. For service business you can put out flyer's, advertise on radio or in newspapers. Word of mouth also works wonders and is the best form of advertisement. For product sales you can do the same as service as well as online advertisements and magazine advertising. There are some great free websites to create your own web store.One example is www.weebly.com .Just don't forget to get the legal permits you might need like sales tax permit and possibly an EIN number from the IRS. Any questions are welcome and I will do my best to answer all of them. I will post more on this later.

Case study

I just signed a lease renting a booth in a local store. I filled it with the art I am testing for selling. I pay $25 a month for the space and 4% on all debit and credit payments. I receive all other profits derived from my booth. It will be two months before I get a good read on the local interest. I am still selling the art on eBay. I am planning on getting a portion of my income tax to use to order more of the art and the limited editions of the art. I will also be getting my web store back online around February or March. I have abandoned the Jewelry I was selling.The market is flooded at this time and its just not cost or time productive. Now that I have the art started I am taking time to work on writing my class's. I am working hard to raise my family up from our poverty and will continue to work on it. I am following my dreams and starting my business's. I can and will achieve a better life for my kids. I hope that watching me and how I will rise will inspire you to do the same for your family or self. Anyone with the will can do it If they only try. Don't put off your dream. Go after it now, today.

Sheep No More

Let's start this new year off well. I have been answering a lot of questions lately with "Well its" or "because". My kids are in the Why stage. For those of you who don't have kids this is when kids start incessantly asking why on everything. Why do we have rules? Why do I have to clean my room? Why this, why that its endless.They want to know how things work and why we do what we do. When did we stop asking this and just start doing what others are doing because they are doing it? Let us be a sheep no more walk away from the herd and just start doing what is right to us. If you live your life to the fullest doing what is right in your heart then its a life well lived. Don't do and be what others want just to be part of the group. Its more than ok to dance to a different tune. Lets embrace our Uniqueness its what makes us who we are. If we all looked,acted,thought, and liked the same things life would be pretty boring.So let's all stand up and be who we are warts and all. Happy New Years to you all!

letting life get in the way

OK so things haven't been going so good on the business front. Personal problems have prevented me from finishing rewriting my class and therefore teaching it. Too cold to do the trade shows and I lost the power cord and USB for my camera so I can't even put items on eBay. I am ordering a new charger and USB for the camera this week. Trying to resolve the personal issues so I can get back to writing. Hopefully I will be able to check on pricing for selling my stuff at other stores locally as well. I am still reading and studying up on business. This month I have been reading "Rich dad, poor dad" by Robert t. Kiyosaki which has been amazing. One coauthored by Robert and Donald Trump and then one by strictly Donald Trump. I have been asked by several people why I would read and suggest books by Trump and its simple. The man had millions. Ended up broke and owing millions in debt and then managed to pay off his debt and become a billionaire again. So he is definitely someone I want to learn from. It's easy to make money but to have to pay off extreme debt and rebound the way he did shows its more than possible. Any idea's or questions are more than welcome on any of my postings. I may still be struggling at the poverty level but I am fighting my way out starting with learning all I can on how others have done it and experimenting in entrepreneurship myself.
