New Interest

I recently discovered a show called Extreme Couponing. It opened my eyes to a whole new talent I could have with a bit of hard work.

I saw them accomplish 80% to 100% savings at the store on there items.

It would be amazing to do that but if i can save 25% on my family's store needs that would be amazing. So far I have found several sites that have helped expand my knowledge of how to find the coupons and use them to maximum effect. Coupon101.com is my favorite right now.

 I figure if  I am not working yet as I transition from having my store to home based then I can do my best to stretch what we do have.

New Begining

I did close my store.

Pouted and moped around the house for a week.

Now debating on creating a website or doing eBay.

Found out what I did wrong last time. I put my money all into inventory and forgot advertising. I also need to get several months of  expense's saved up prior to opening. With those and my family issue's settled I should have a better chance to succeed.

Closing of a store

Due to unfortunate circumstance I have lost my lease. Packing up the store.

Not giving up though. Going to sell on ebay and trade shows to save up for a new location.

Hard emotionally to do but intellectually I understand.

Studying what went wrong so I can do better next time.

set back

Do to family issues I had to close the store for a month. Hoping to reopen the first of July.

Thinking of having a Grand Reopening.

I am so looking forward to being back at work.

store update

Ok the store is up and running.

It's name is Rebecca's Art and Decor.

Business is slow since I put all my money into inventory and none in advertisement. Big screw up.

I put out flier's Monday so we will see how that goes.

I have a running list of what customers have commented on wanting so I can carry them.

Listening to them is how I will make this work.

I also just received the information on advertising on our local radio stations. Hoping to start using it soon.

The store is rented.

Inventory arrived was priced and stocked in the store.

Opening day is set for April 1st.

I have been offered a possible new location and partnership of sorts in a few months.

Things are going great so far. There is a lot of buzz in town about my opening.

We are handing out flier's next week announcing the opening and we are going to try

to advertise in the paper and on the radio.Will write more after the opening to let

you know how it goes.

Actualizing a Dream

My store will be a reality.
I negotiated and rented a location.
Inventory has been ordered.
Planning to Open in March.

I will be opening a Art and Decor store in a good location. Have already tested the local market and found it willing to buy both kinds of art I will be carrying. I am ordering the decor in small batches to test and see what of it sells well.

Today I spent time today framing the art I already received. I also started an inventory list. I am making a daily checklist of inventory sold. I can mark at the end of the day what sold so at weeks end I know what to order. My permits are filed and I am awaiting them in the mail.
